The Toward Home Alliance is delighted to welcome Hutt St Centre as a formal Alliance partner.
Since launching in July 2021, Toward Home Alliance has been working closely with Hutt St Centre to support people at-risk of or experiencing homelessness in the inner city of Adelaide.
Rohan Feegrade, Chair of the Toward Home Alliance and Chief Executive Officer of lead agency Lutheran Care, says, “We are thrilled to welcome Hutt St Centre as a formal partner in the Alliance, to complement and extend the breadth of expertise and services offered by the Toward Home Alliance”.
“Hutt St Centre has provided a point of connection with services and supports for people experiencing homelessness in the inner city for many years; and this partnership confirms our commitment and strengthens our resolve to work with government and sector stakeholders to achieve functional zero street homelessness by 2025 through the Adelaide Zero Project”, Mr Feegrade said.
Chris Burns, Chief Executive Officer of Hutt St Centre, says, “Hutt St Centre is excited to be joining the Alliance and having the opportunity to contribute specialist homelessness services as part of the Toward Home team. We appreciate the opportunity to come together with the Alliance to further broaden services in the city and better support people experiencing homelessness as we walk with them on their journey to homefulness”.
Hutt St Centre will join the Toward Home Alliance to deliver assertive outreach and case management supports within the ‘Resolve’ service segment, which aims to break the cycle of homelessness for people with persistent and enduring experiences of homelessness.
Mr Feegrade added, “In every state, we know people experiencing homelessness often come into the city centre to access services and supports. Together with Baptist Care SA’s Westcare site, and the Salvation Army’s Doorways community hub on Pirie Street, the Alliance offers a range of accessible and safe places in the inner city for people experiencing homelessness to access support”.
“With housing affordability and cost of living pressures reaching crisis points for a growing number of South Australian individuals and families, we need to continue to work together to meet the escalating level of need across our services”, he said.
Toward Home offers services across the Adelaide CBD, southern metro and Adelaide Hills areas and is one of the South Australian Government’s five homelessness alliances across the state.
Hutt St Centre will join Baptist Care SA, Mission Australia, The Salvation Army, Sonder and Lead Agency Lutheran Care alongside government partner the South Australian Housing Authority, in the Toward Home Alliance.
