Our services
Toward Home’s client-centred services
Our Toward Home teams are here to listen, assist and ensure that every contact that we have is respectful, is culturally mindful and places the person at the centre of our services.
Our staff are warm, inclusive and welcoming to people from all genders, age levels and backgrounds, including the LGBTQIA+ community.
We provide services to adults, and families with accompanying children that are at risk, and/or experiencing homelessness.
Our services include:
Emergency, short-term accommodation with accompanying support.
Case management, including assistance to explore your housing options and guidance around accessing housing, including public housing, community housing and private rental.
Assertive outreach support to individuals and families sleeping rough. By this we mean, reaching out to people on the streets, in parks, in places where people find themselves sleeping rough. Our outreach teams are committed to making meaningful connections and offering appropriate assistance towards ending these clients’ homelessness experience.
Referrals to other free, confidential specialist services, including drug and alcohol services, tenancy information, financial counselling, material aid, community legal services, family, domestic violence services as well as places to get a free meal, free groceries and/or access to a shower.
Connecting or reconnecting to community. Through our Wardli-ana program, we are able to help people to return to country. Our specialist team connects eligible Aboriginal clients to mob, culture and community, and supports them to gain access to opportunities for shared cultural activities, language or practices.
What to expect when you call Toward Home for help
The Toward Home team are there for you, to help support you with housing as well as access financial, emotional, mental health or physical health services, should you need them. When you call the Toward Home Access team, they will have a short conversation with you to better understand your needs and refer you to the services you need. This may be helping you apply for and access benefits and concessions, or making long-term connections with health professionals who can offer support with a more complex issue such as anxiety or alcohol or drug dependency.
